Hey LenteRENTS (Lentera Parents),
It’s been two weeks since we returned from our first in-person Character Building Camp since the pandemic. The theme this year was REVIVAL: Caring, Courage, Communicate. We are so grateful and proud of the grade 11 students who took on the challenge and responsibility of planning all things related to the activities. They indeed did a great job of putting them together.

The first day started with a quick orientation at our school’s MPH, followed by a two-hour journey to Villa Bukit Palem. Located in the highlands of Bogor, Villa Bukit Palem provided a vibrant setting to combine fun and interaction. We kicked off our Character Building Camp with fun indoor games, an inspiring lesson about caring for one another, skit extravaganzas, and a birthday celebration to end the night.

Despite having a late night, our students woke up bright and early the next morning to enjoy and participate in fun team-building activities and, of course, a pool party. How often do students get a chance to splash on their teachers and their principal and like a stadium crowd, coax, if not compel, them to jump into the pool? That wasn’t the end of it though! It was then accompanied by a lesson on courage learned with conviction. Finally, ending the day was an entertaining talent show. What better way to practice courage and boldness? And boy, do we have lots of talented students in our school!

Alas, it was the third day. Although it was the last day of the camp, it certainly was the most colourful one – literally. We could barely recognise our faces covered in different hues as we ran around pelting one another with coloured powder. After lunch, it was time to leave. The gloomy weather on our way back depicted our sentiment toward the memories we had created over the three days.
Until next time!
